SRDC Corp. was founded by a professional team of engineers directed by Prof. Asuman Doğaç in METU Technopolis in 2007. SRDC is a spin-off company of the Middle East Technical University Software Research and Development Center (METU-SRDC), which was founded in 1991 with the support of The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) and METU Faculty of Engineering. A majority of the team hold PhD and MSc degrees in Computer Engineering at METU, and the remaining are progressing.

SRDC enjoys strong backing from the university for transferring the R&D efforts to the industry and public administrations. We perform R&D activities both for developing brand new products and services and for innovative improvement of existing products and services. We have extensive expertise in large-scale software development, interoperability standards and enabling technologies, semantic Web technologies, interoperability solutions for e-health, e-government and e-business domains, data analytics, conformance and interoperability testing, and mobile application development.

Prof. Dr. Asuman Doğaç is the founder and general manager of SRDC. Formerly, she was a full professor at the Department of Computer Engineering, Middle East Technical University. She was also the director of the METU Software Research and Development Center. She retired from the university in 2011 and continued working in SRDC Corp. She is tranferring her academic knowledge to the industry and government organizations.

Her expertise includes Internet Computing, Semantic Web, Agent Technologies, Interoperability, eBusiness, and eHealth. She has published more than 100 papers in refereed international conferences and journals including the Communications of the ACM, IEEE Internet Computing, IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering, IEEE Transactions on Information Technology in Biomedicine, Information Systems Journal (Elsevier), Journal of Parallel and Distributed Databases and the ACM Computing Surveys. She actively participates to the national and international standardization activities and has drafted two OASIS standards. She has an h-index of 33 according to Google Scholar.

In 2004, Dr. Dogac received the IBM (USA) Faculty award. She is also the recipient of several local awards: 1991 Mustafa Parlar Research Award, 1994 Husamettin Tugac Research Award, 1999 METU Achievement Award, 2000 METU Tarik Somer Superior Achievement award, 2000 Mustafa Parlar Science award and 2001 Tarik Somer award.

Gökçe has joined METU – SRDC in 2000 and has a PhD in Computer Engineering. She is currently acting as the Deputy Manager of SRDC, responsible for R&D activities.

Her research areas include: eHealth, Semantic Interoperability, Clinical Decision Support Systems, Clinical Guidelines, Big Data Analytics, Service Oriented Architectures, Peer-to-Peer Computing, Agent Technologies. She coordinated FP7 287800 SALUS Project, which aims to enable secondary use of EHRs for Pharmacovigilance purposes through a semantic infrastructure. She is actively involved in Standardisation activities, and acted as the Technical Co-Chair of IHE Quality, Research and Public Health Domain (QRPH) between 2013-2015. She is currently working in C3-Cloud and Medolution projects.

She has finished her MSc Thesis entitled as A Platform for Agent Behavior Design and Multi Agent Orchestration in 2003. She has finalized her PhD study on Intelligent Healthcare Monitoring systems based on Semantically Enriched Clinical Guidelines in June 2008 in Department of Computer Engineering, METU. She has many papers published in peer-reviewed journals and conferences.

Yıldıray Kabak

Yıldıray joined METU – SRDC in 2000. He completed his MSc (Exploiting Web Service Semantics through ebXML Registries in 2003) and his PhD (Semantic Interoperability of the UN/CEFACT CCTS Based Electronic Business Document Standards in 2009) in Computer Engineering of METU.

His research areas include: eGovernment, eHealth, Semantic Interoperability, Big Data Analytics, Service Oriented Architectures and Peer-to-Peer Computing. He is actively involved in standardisation activities, and currently acting as technical expert in CEN Global eBusiness Interoperability Test Beds (GITB) and Business Interoperability Interfaces (BII) workshops. He participated in many large-scale projects as project manager. He is currently involved in European Commission supported C2-SENSE and NIMBLE projects. He also gave consultancy to Ministry of Health and Revenue Administration.

He has many papers published in peer-reviewed journals and conferences.

Tuncay Namlı

Tuncay joined METU-SRDC in 2004 as a part-time software developer while he was studying Computer Engineering at METU. He is one of the co-founders of the SRDC and is currently working as the project manager in the company.

He has a PhD in Computer Engineering and his research areas includes; eHealth Infrastructures, Personal Health Systems, Conformance and Interoperability Testing, Big Data Infrastructures and Analytics. He has led the TestBATN and Pickr projects in the company and currently working on the GITB project as a testbed expert and POWER2DM project as a project manager.

He has finalized his MSc thesis on privacy and security in eHealth infrastructures in June 2007 in Department of Computer Engineering Department, METU. He has finalized his PhD study on automated conformance and interoperability testing in June 2011. He has worked as a automated conformance testing consultant in GITB and ETSI STF-370 projects.

Mustafa Yüksel

Mustafa joined METU-SRDC in 2005 as a part-time software developer while he was pursuing his BSc degree in Computer Engineering at METU, which he got in 2006. He is one of the co-founders of SRDC Corp. and is currently working as a project manager and senior researcher.

His research areas include eHealth (cross-border patient data exchange, national eHealth infrastructures, EHR, PHR, post-market safety studies, data content and exchange standards), eBusiness, Interoperability, Semantic Web, Interoperability Testing, Service Oriented Architectures and Social Media. He has participated in many European Commission supported projects including C3-CloudSALUS, epSOS, PALANTE, iCARDEA, iSURF, SAPHIRE and RIDE H2020/FP7/FP6 projects. In epSOS, he led the national pilot of Turkey for cross-border patient summary exchange. He has developed the first and only open source implementation of the epSOS specifications for cross-border data exchange, which later turned into a multi-national open source effort. For many years, he has provided consultancy services on the management of National Health Information System to the Ministry of Health, Turkey; as well as to Hospital Information System vendors for their standards-based implementation and testing activities.

He finalized his MSc thesis entitled Sharing Electronic Healthcare Records Across Country Borders in 2008, and PhD thesis entitled A Semantic Interoperability Framework for Reinforcing Post Market Safety Studies in 2013 in Computer Engineering at METU. He has many papers published in peer-reviewed journals and conferences.

Ali Anıl Sınacı

Anil joined the SRDC team in 2006 as a part-time software developer while he was an undergraduate student at the Department of Computer Engineering, METU. He is currently working as a project manager and senior researcher at SRDC Corp.

He holds a PhD in Computer Engineering; his research areas include eHealth and eBusiness Infrastructures, Clinical Research Informatics, Data Interoperability, Semantic Web, Service Oriented Architectures, Interoperability Standards, and Conformance and Interoperability Testing. He has actively worked for many European Commission supported research projects such as Medolution, POWER2DMSALUS, IKS, BIVEE, iSURF and HAGRID.

He has been the design and development leader of the SALUS project; carried out the management of the BIVEE project; and he has led the SemanticMDR project in SRDC. He is an Apache committer and he takes part in the Project Management Committee (PMC) of the Apache Stanbol project. He is contributing to the standardization activities and was a member of the technical and planning committees of IHE Quality, Research and Public Health Domain (QRPH) between 2013-2015.

He completed his MSc thesis in 2009 on the conformance and interoperability testing of the National Health Information System of Turkey. He finalized his PhD thesis entitled Data Interoperability through Federated Semantic Metadata Registries in 2014. He authored many papers published in peer-reviewed journals and conferences.

Suat Gönül

Suat is a part of SRDC team since 2008. He is currently working as a researcher and software engineer in the company.

He has graduated from the Department of Computer Engineering, METU in June, 2010 and completed his MSc study in the same department in July, 2012 with a thesis entitled Enhancing Content Management Systems with Semantic Capabilities. He is still a PhD candidate for Computer Engineering in the same department.

He is interested various topics including but not limited to Collaborative Supply Chain, Industrial IoT, Operational Performance, eHealth, Semantic Web, Semantic Interoperability, Data Science, UX, HCI and so on.

He is currently working in the NIMBLE and POWER2DM projects and has been involved in several FP7 projects including IKS, SALUS and iSURF. He was the lead developer in the IKS Project and also was a part of the technical design and development team of SALUS Project. As an Apache committer, he is one of the main contributers of Apache Stanbol and he is still a Project Management Committee (PMC) member in Stanbol.

Senan joined SRDC Corp. in 2008 as a part-time software developer while he was studying Computer Engineering in METU. He is currently working as a senior software engineer in the company.

He has graduated from the Department of Computer Engineering, METU in June, 2010 and completed his MSc study in the same department in July, 2012 with a thesis entitled An Advanced Personal Health Record Platform for Patient Empowerment.

Senan has mainly worked in eHealth (Personal Health Records, Personal Health Systems), mHealth, Conformance Testing, Big Data & Data Analytics, and Mobile Design & Development domains. He participated in FP7 funded projects BlogForever and IKS. He was one of the main developers in the BlogForever with a close collaboration with CERN. He also participated in ITEA projects OSAMI-Commons and MedolutionGITB project which was supported by European Committee for Standardization (CEN) and several national R&D projects that were developed with Turkish Telekom partnership. He also built the server architecture of Turkish State Meteorological Service and developed their iOS application.

Mert joined SRDC Corp. in 2010 as a part-time software developer while he was an undergraduate student at Department of Computer Engineering, METU. He is currently working as a senior software engineer in the company.

He has graduated from the Department of Computer Engineering, METU in June, 2012 and completed his MSc study in the same department in June, 2015 with a thesis entitled Self Management of Patients with Ankylosing Spondylitis through a Personal Health System. He is still a PhD candidate for Computer Engineering in the same department.

Mert has mainly worked in eHealth (Personal Health Records, Personal Health Systems), mHealth, Security, Emergency Management, Semantic Web, Semantic Interoperability domains and mobile application development in Android and iOS environments. He has actively worked for European Commission supported PALANTE project and several national R&D projects that were developed with Turkish Telekom partnership. He has actively involved in the development of eSağlıkKaydım Web application, Diyetick iOS application and Meteorology Android application. He is currently working on European Commission supported C2-SENSE project.
